This is a really really really funny story!! I thought it was a good 1 with Halloween coming up!!
Minnesota Ghost
This happened about a monthago just outside of Willmar, alittle town in the back countryof Minnesota, and while it soundslike an Alfred Hitchcock tale, it's real. This out-of-state traveler was on theside of the road, hitchhiking on a realdark night in the middle of a thunderstorm.Time passed slowly and no cars went by.It was raining so hard he could hardlysee his hand in front of his face.Suddenly he saw a car moving slowly, approaching and appearing ghostlikein the rain. It slowly and silentlycrept toward him and stopped.Wanting a ride real bad the guy jumpedin the car and closed the door; onlythen did he realize that there wasnobody behind the wheel, and nosound of an engine to be heard overthe rain.Again the car crept slowly forwardand the guy was terrified, too scaredto think of jumping out and running. The guy saw that the car wasapproaching a sharp curve and, still too scared to jump out, hestarted to pray and began beggingfor his life; he was sure the ghostcar would go off the road and intoa nearby lake and he would drown! But just before the curve, a shadowyfigure appeared at the driver's windowand a hand reached in and turned thesteering wheel, guiding the car safelyaround the bend. Then, just as silently, the handdisappeared through the windowand the hitchhiker was alone again!Paralyzed with fear, the guy watchedthe hand reappear every time theyreached a curve. Finally the guy, scared to near death, had all he could take and jumpedout of the car and ran and ran, intotown, into Willmar.Wet and in shock, he went into a barand voice quavering, ordered twoshots of whiskey, then told everybodyabout his supernatural experience.A silence enveloped and everybodygot goose bumps when they realizedthe guy was telling the truth(and was not just some drunk).About half an hour later two guyswalked into the bar and one saysto the other,'Look Ole, ders dat idiot that rode inour car when we wuz pushin it in the rain.'
